Speaker Bio:

Fr. O’Donnell grew up in Syracuse, New York. After two years as a student at Providence College, he entered the Order of Preachers in 1963 and was ordained a priest in 1970. In 1971 he earned an MA in Liturgical Studies from the University of Notre Dame, and in 1980 earned an STD degree in the area of Liturgical Spiritual Theology from the Pontifical Faculty for Spirituality, the Teresianum, in Rome. He has previously taught at the Pontifical Faculty of the Immaculate Conception, St. Charles Seminary in Philadelphia, PA and the Angelicum in Rome. In addition to teaching, he currently serves as a vice-postulator for the cause for sainthood of Father Michael J. McGivney, the founder of the Knights of Columbus, and as vice-postulator for the cause of Rose Hawthorne, founder of the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne, NY. He previously survived as postulator for the cause of canonization of Father Paul of Graymoor, which has also been submitted to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints in Rome. With Robin Mass, Ph.D., Fr. O’Donnell is the author of Spiritual Traditions for the Contemporary Church and has contributed to A Love That Never Ends: A Key to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

About the speaker:
Fr. Mark Morozowich pursued a vocation to the priesthood in the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of St. Josaphat in Parma, Ohio. He served in Pittsburgh and in Butler, Pennsylvania before beginning doctoral studies at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome that yielded a comprehensive study of Holy Thursday Liturgy in Jerusalem and Constantinople from the Fourth to the Fourteenth Centuries. He lectures as an Associate Professor of Liturgy at The Catholic University of America, served as the Associate Dean for Seminary and Ministerial Programs, and is dean of The School of Theology and Religious Studies. His research focuses upon various topics of liturgical history from penitential practices and the liturgical year to divergent issues in Eastern Christian Mysteries.

We do not blame the Jews for the Crucifixion of Jesus as we know that it is our own sins that caused his Passion and death. Fr. Mike tells us that the Jews are not collectively responsible for Jesus’ death, and they should not be spoken of as rejected or cursed. Day 173: Confidence in God (2025)

Statues can make a big difference in helping keep our Faith present in our daily lives, especially for kids as they grow up. But, sometimes religious statues make people uncomfortable. Jeff describes how statues are not idols, but rather tools to remind us of our salvation and the virtues we need to cultivate to attain it.

The Statue of Imitations

Joe McInerney is the Director of Leadership and Ethics Education for the Knights of Columbus, a worldwide fraternal association of more than two million members with headquarters in New Haven, CT. Prior to retiring as a Captain from the United States Navy he served as the Chairman of the Department of Leadership, Ethics, and Law and as Permanent Military Professor of Applied Ethics and Leadership at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. After working in a variety of leadership positions in the Navy, Captain McInerney was selected for the Navy’s Permanent Military Professor Program. As a member of that program, he graduated from The Catholic University of America with a doctorate in systematic theology. Captain McInerney also holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters of Theological Studies from the John Paul II Institute in Washington DC. A writer of both academic and popular essays, Captain McInerney is also author of The Greatness of Humility: St. Augustine on Moral Excellence (Wipf &amp;Stock, 2016) and Passion and Paradox: The Leadership Genius of Jesus Christ (Catholic Information Service, 2018). Unforgiveness is one of the biggest stumbling blocks in our walk with the Lord. Jeff uses the parable of the unforgiving servant to share with us how unforgiveness hardens our hearts, immobilizes us spiritually, and prevents us from appreciating God’s mercy with our own brokenness.
